The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasnāt aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) unknowingly became part of an armed robbery in todayās episode, as Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) desperately tried to orchestrate a plan that would hopefully end in him reuniting with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley).
The local GP fell hook, line and sinker to Kevās plot when the character started complaining of chest pains while in the shop.
Liam knows that Kev has been lying to Robert about being terminally ill, but began to worry when the symptoms came on suddenly. He felt compelled to take him to the hospital, unaware that this was all part of Kevās operation.

Pulling into a layby, Liamās phone went which meant he was suddenly very distracted. As he excitedly spoke about an upcoming murder mystery event, Kev donned his hat and scarf, grabbed his bag and legged it into a pawn shop.
Moments later, Kev returned and Liam suddenly realised something was amiss. Kev had a gun in his pocket and was very out of breath. Despite Kevās claim, it really wasnāt a sign that he was pleased to see his new sidekick.
To his horror, Liam then spied a load of money and jewellery spilling from his bag.
Kev was on a high from the robbery and told Liam to leg it. The duo managed to distract Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) shortly after they got back to the village, but Liamās life got a whole lot worse when Kev used his stolen money to give Charles some rent.
Liam tried to get through to Kev but of course, it wasnāt going to work. Kev wanted Ā£2000 because he believed if he gave it to Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), Robert would be impressed and then get back with him. A few comments from a doctor about doing the right thing absolutely wasnāt going to make him change his mind.

As Kevās hopes grew, Liam remained utterly distraught. In the pub back room, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) found him shaking and grew worried. Liam wasted no time in telling her, but Charity realised she could gain something from this and told Liam that she wanted something in return for her silence.
While Liam processed the fact that he now had no choice but to become Mackenzie Boydās (Lawrence Robb) new BFF, Kev was talking to Robert.
It didnāt take Robert very long to work out that Kev was responsible for the robbery at the pawn shop. To his shock, he then also learnt that the money Kev would often reference in prison ā the same amount that Robert wanted after his husband died ā did not exist.
He raced back to Mill Cottage flat to update Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), who realised the universe was now giving them the perfect opportunity to get rid of Kev forever and focus on their future.

Aaron told Robert that all theyād have to do is find the money and the items stolen from the shop, and tell the police. It would prove that Kev was responsible, and more than likely send him back inside.
Robert knew this was a risk. If Kev finds out that his relationship ended because Robert was more focused on Aaron than him, heād hit the roof. He expressed this to Aaron, and it was obvious as well that he felt guilty about potentially betraying the man who helped him a great deal while in prison.
But Aaron made it clear to his boyfriend that they really donāt have any other option.
As long as they are careful, Kev could soon be back staring at the four walls of a prison cell, and Robronās future together could continue once more.
