Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden might be in a heap of trouble after Kev Townsend overheard them declaring their love for each other in the soap’s latest episode. The pair have been keeping their reunion under wraps, fearing what Kev (Robert’s very recently estranged husband) might do if he ever found out.
Ironically, the instalment began with Kev vowing to become a better person, declaring in Robert’s earshot: “Today’s the day I’ve decided to turn over a new leaf. Just become the sort of person people could be proud of.”
But after Aaron saw where Kev was keeping his stolen loot from last week’s armed robbery, it wasn’t long before he was taken into custody; with Aaron and Robert having persuaded Liam to call the police on him.
Brought in for questioning, Kev denied all charges. He was ultimately let go when it emerged that the loot had been moved and there was insufficient evidence to hold him.
Kev confronted Nicola, assuming her to be the one who made the call to the police. But she revealed that she, in fact, was the one who moved the loot and thereby saved him from being sent down.

When Kev suspiciously questioned why she would do such a thing, Nicola said: “That’s an excellent question. Morally, I should hand this lot [stolen goods] in and have you sent back to prison where you so clearly belong. Call that option one.
“[Option two is that] I let you take your ill-gotten gains and walk away scot-free.”
When Kev unsurprisingly opted for the latter, Nicola revealed her one condition: that he stay away from Lewis Barton.
Last week, Kev and Nicola both realised that he’s Lewis’s long-lost biological father, although the lad himself has no idea.
Tonight, Nicola said: “I’m taking you at your word that the robbery was a one-off because you needed the money. So I’m offering you a lifeline here. And all you have to do is keep your distance.”

Kev reluctantly agreed, but before he could leave the area for good, he overheard Robert and Aaron having a quiet chat.
Robert correctly guessed that Nicola was the one who moved the stolen loot and scuppered their plot to get Kev locked up again, but he and Aaron remained clueless over what her motive would have been.
“I should never have let things get this far,” said a despairing Robert. “I just wanna be with you, properly, without worrying about what’ll happen if Kev finds out.”
With Kev shown to be eavesdropping, Aaron reassured him: “Robert, I love you, and you love me. And for now, that’s all we need to know.”
The iconic couple kissed, totally oblivious to the fact that Kev heard every word. So what will the popular villain do next — and are the duo in danger?
