Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale’s Sam Dingle is forced to come clean with some upsetting news next week, leaving Lydia disappointed – and him humiliated. Sam has been going all-out to treat Lydia with some Jason Donovan concert tickets, but it’s proving to be a tricky task.
After Sam and Belle’s first plan to get Lydia tickets for the gig goes disastrously wrong and leaves Sam skint, Ryan Stocks urges him to tell his wife the truth…
“Sam hates the idea of disappointing Lydia, but hiding the truth from her will only make things worse,” our Emmerdale insider points out. “He’s got them into a right old pickle, but he did it out of love for her.”
When Sam comes home to find excited Lydia trying on dresses for the concert with Belle, she bashfully admits that she knows he managed to get her tickets as a surprise.

Lydia’s happy moment is short-lived though, when Sam is forced to burst her bubble and tell his wife the truth about the tickets.
“Sam’s quest to get Lydia tickets to see Jase ended in disaster, and now they’ve been left out of pocket,” our source says. “Not only does he have to tell her she isn’t going to see her favourite Aussie celeb, he also has to deliver the blow that they’re absolutely brassic.
“We’d hope that understanding Lydia won’t hold it all against her husband, but he really has mucked things up this time, so who knows?”
After Sam finishes explaining everything, Lydia heads upstairs in devastation, leaving Sam feeling like a disappointment to his wife.

Can he find a way to bring a smile back to her face in time for Christmas? We know that Jason Donovan himself will be making a cameo in an upcoming episode, but will this be Sam’s doing or someone else’s?
“I’m incredibly excited to have been asked to make a cameo appearance in Emmerdale as myself,” Jason said recently. “Filming was great fun and all of the cast and crew were extremely welcoming. Singing in the Woolpack set was definitely an experience I won’t forget.”
Emmerdale’s producer Laura Shaw added: “We were delighted that Jason agreed to join us for this episode. Not only is Lydia Dingle a big fan of his, there was a real buzz on set that day. I hope the viewers enjoy his cameo as much as the Emmerdale family did.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
