Emmerdale’s latest Dylan Penders update spells trouble for Ray and Celia

Emmerdale spoilers follow from Thursday’s episode (11 December), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale has revealed another possibility for Ray Walters and Celia Daniels’ downfall – with Dylan Penders now likely to make a recovery. The positive news is shared in tonight’s episode, but are Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk right to be so confident that this could save their daughter April from her ongoing nightmare?

Dylan has been fighting for his life in hospital for the past week after being deliberately run over by evil Ray. The teen was targeted after encouraging April to speak to the police over Ray and Celia’s drug operation. This also served as a warning for April and her family that they could be next if they didn’t cooperate.

In tonight’s episode, Marlon joins Paddy Dingle at Dylan’s hospital bedside and is shocked by some news about his future.

“I’ve just seen a doctor and you’re not going to believe this,” Paddy says. “After being told to prepare for the worst, they’re now saying he’s turned a corner and he’s doing really well.dylan penders, emmerdale

“In fact, he’s doing that well, they reckon that if he keeps improving they might be able to wake him up in the next day or two. I can’t tell you how relieved I am.”

Once Marlon is back home, conversation naturally turns to how this could affect the predicament that his family are in with Ray and Celia.

Ray is adamant that April must continue carrying out drug runs, unless Marlon and Rhona are prepared to keep paying him to back off.

However, with Dylan able to identify who ran him over, the worried parents are convinced that the tables could soon turn on Ray…april windsor, marlon dingle, rhona goskirk, emmerdale

“When Dylan wakes up, we can persuade him to tell the police what happened – what Ray did,” Marlon says.

Rhona adds: “He will realise that the only way out of this is to go to the police and tell the truth.”

Is this wishful thinking (April certainly reckons so) – or could Dylan hold the key to this storyline coming to an end?

The NSPCC, Childline and FRANK offer support and resources for the issues raised in April and Dylan’s storyline.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
