Barney, who plays the accident-prone Cameron Mickelthwaite, made his debut in the show’s 37th season, which premiered in 2023.

After becoming part of the Casualty cast, he expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “It’s been an incredible experience to join the cast of Casualty alongside Anna, Sarah, JJ and Eddie.”

He added: “It’s a real joy to come to work every day and play Cam. I can’t wait for the viewers to meet nurse Cam as he arrives at Holby and very quickly realises he might have bitten off more than he can chew!”

Barney isn’t new to the acting scene; he started his TV career back in 2013 with a part in Law and Order: UK.

Following his initial breakthrough, Barney has secured roles in series like Doctors, Death in Paradise, and appeared as PC Harness in ITV’s The Larkins, a reboot of the classic The Darling Buds of May which also stars his dad, Bradley Walsh, as the iconic Pop Larkin.

Additionally, Barney isn’t just flexing his acting muscles but is also making waves as a TV host. He co-presents BBC’s revamped Gladiators with his father and joins him on the hit adventure travelogue for ITV, Bradley and Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad, which has concluded its triumphant sixth season recently.

Reflecting on the unique dynamic their partnership brings, Bradley once revealed on ITV’s This Morning: “He has always been my son, and you always take care of them.
