Casualty confirms who stole the missing morphine in huge iPlayer release twist

Casualty has finally confirmed who has been stealing the missing morphine from the ED – and it’s a big surprise.

One of the most intriguing plotlines in the show’s current boxset, ‘Supply and Demand’ is Faith’s discovery that someone has seemingly been pretending to give patients pain relief and pocketing the medication themselves.

With the police finding hospital grade morphine on the streets, questions have risen around who could have taken drugs from the ED – and Faith’s number one suspect is Jacob.

Things got tense when Iain accused Jacob of the theft, but when he found out that his colleague was working a second job to pay for his son Jacob’s prescription, Iain knew Jacob couldn’t be responsible.

However it was too late, as Faith reported Jacob to Jan, and in today’s episode furious Jacob was confined to desk duties as an investigation took place.

Iain was sure that Jacob was completely innocent, but Faith remained adamant that she had done the right thing by reporting him.

But when the paramedic team were treating a patient trapped under a van, the morphine they were administering didn’t seem to be easing the teenager’s severe pain.

As there was still a problem with the morphine while Jacob was away from the ambulances, Faith realised that he couldn’t be the culprit.

Faith was devastated that she had made an incorrect accusation and tried to apologise to Jacob, but he felt completely betrayed by her, especially as she had previously been accused of something similar.

This led Faith to recall when Iain reported her to Max for stealing drugs, and she accused her husband of throwing her under the bus yet protecting Jacob.

Later, Iain found concrete evidence that Jacob is innocent, and someone is tampering with the morphine. Viewers found out that the culprit is none other than Sunny, with the pharmacist seen labelling other medication as morphine before packaging it up.

She and Rash have just taken a big step forward in their relationship, with Rash meeting her son Jake for the first time – but he has no idea about Sunny’s shocking actions.

Why is Sunny stealing morphine, and will she be caught?
