Emmerdale spoilers follow from Thursday’s episode (11 December), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale is lining up a heartwarming Christmas wedding storyline for Jacob Gallagher and Sarah Sugden. The latest festive spoiler drops in Thursday’s episode, as the young couple plot ways to tie the knot without any drama between their loved ones.

The latest visit to the village sees Kerry Wyatt and Charity Dingle spark a petty fall-out as they become too competitive over Kyle and Moses playing Christmas games at the local shop.

Jacob, who’s close to Kerry due to her link with Eric, is dismayed that she can’t get along with Sarah’s gran for the sake of keeping the peace.

After initially suggesting separate tables at the wedding, Jacob then has a brainwave…

“Let’s not tell them we’re getting married,” Jacob says. “Let’s not tell them when. Let’s just do it and tell them afterwards.

“I mean, your mum’s not here and neither’s mine. So let it just be me and you. Look, I know you wanted the whole fairytale wedding, but the way them two behaved today, it’s gonna end up being more like a horror movie.”

Sarah then pipes up with an idea of her own, saying: “Why don’t we get married on Christmas Eve? I’ve always wanted a winter wedding and doing it on Christmas Eve would make it so special.”

As the pair make plans to get Belle Dingle on board as a wedding planner with no time to waste, it seems that the romantic idea is on.

Fans can see more of Jacob and Sarah’s plans – including whether any of their family will eventually be lucky enough to get an invite – over the coming weeks.

Whatever happens, it’s also sure to be an interesting time for stressed-out Charity, who’s still keeping quiet about how the baby she’s carrying isn’t Jacob and Sarah’s.

A DNA test recently revealed that Ross Barton is the father following a one-off hook-up with Charity earlier in the year. Could the secret be exposed over the festive period?
