Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale’s Lydia Dingle is determined to get tickets to see ’80s icon Jason Donovan next week, sparking a chaotic chain of events. Lydia turns out to be a Jason superfan, but when her original dream doesn’t go to plan, the Dingles pull together to organise a special surprise for her.
The story begins when Lydia confides in her husband Sam that she’s been saving up for the concert tickets, but still isn’t sure whether she has enough money.
“Lydia is Jason’s number one Dono-fan!” our Emmerdale source laughs. “She’s been squirrelling away all the money that she can especially for Jase – to be able to see him singing live would mean the absolute world to her.
“However, she’s worried that even with her spare change, the hard-up Dingles won’t be able to afford tickets…”

Supportive, Belle and Sam take it upon themselves to count out the cash and are delighted when they manage to round it up to the amount that Lydia needs.
Though, their happiness is short-lived as Belle is unable to get her hands on the sold-out tickets, forcing her to formulate a new plan…
“The Dingle gang are gutted to have missed out on the tickets and don’t want to disappoint Lydia,” our insider continues. “So they decide to surprise her with a Jason Donovan-themed VIP karaoke party at home.
“When Lydia takes off her blindfold, she’s touched by her family’s efforts, and the party gets under way – even Steve the stuffed parrot gets amongst it!
“Lydia’s about to start belting out a rousing solo number when disaster strikes…”

Just as the party is in full swing, the power cuts out – and after Sam’s best efforts to get it back on fail, it becomes clear that it’s more than a tripped switch they’re dealing with.
Calling in Noah’s help, Sam and Lydia are horrified when he slaps them with a pricey quote for rewiring, forcing poor Lydia to give up her ticket fund.
Unaware of the situation back at Wishing Well Cottage, Belle is delighted when she manages to purchase some Jason tickets after all, leaving the Dingles severely out of pocket.
When Sam has an idea for how to raise the lost cash and ropes Belle into his grand scheme, will he be able to pull it off and make some money? And will Lydia get to fulfil her dream of seeing her Aussie idol in the end? With recent news of Jason’s upcoming cameo in the soap, we suspect there’ll be a happy ending…
