Anna then went on to detail what she wants to achieve next year: ‘My intention for 2026 is this: build a community. A space where women tell our stories. Rebuild our villages or tribes and show up exactly as we are — fierce, flawed, fed up, fabulous, rising anyway. Proper Northern resilience. Hydrated, healing and harder to knock down.
‘And I mean this with my whole chest: if you’re having a rough time, if you’re rebuilding yourself, if you’re absolutely DONE — message me, please. Don’t overthink it. Don’t apologise. Just reach out. I’ll answer.
So, as we close this wild chapter: what have you come through this year?
And who do you want to grow into next?’
Fellow former soap star, Ali Bastian, commented: ‘I don’t love that you sound like you have had the toughest time, but the power and compassion in your words is incredible. Build it and we will come. This is a community I don’t just want to be part of, I need to be part of’.
@hanwardell added: ‘You are amazing and the strongest woman I know. What would have broken most has only made you stronger. Looking forward for what’s to come and you know I’m there for you every step of the way my beautiful bestie, my beautiful soul sister’, while @gembem42 commented: ‘What a beautiful post. Those years are hard. I’ve lived some quite recently too. If nothing else, they prove to us, the strength we own, that we never knew we had. I see you’.
Who was Andrea Tate in Emmerdale?
Anna’s character Andrea emerged as the wife of recently-arrived Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln), son of Emmerdale royalty and official HBIC, Kim Tate (Claire King), becoming embroiled in the dynamics of the toxic clan almost immediately.

She was thrust into a paternity mystery when Kim’s secret husband and right-hand man, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), revealed he was potentially the true father of Andrea’s daughter, Millie (Willow Belle), later battling Jamie and Kim when the former had an affair with Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), tearing their marriage apart.
Though Andrea looked to forge a new life together with local vicar, Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), she found herself in the crosshairs of psychopathic serial killer, Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu), whom she discovered trying to drown Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins).
Though Andrea bravely tried to battle Meena, it proved futile when the vicious murderer knocked Andrea out before setting the maze they were trapped in ablaze and allowed her to perish in the flames.
Though arch enemy Kim was arrested in the aftermath of Andrea’s death, true culprit Meena was eventually sentenced for the crime when her reign of bloody terror eventually came to light.
